Subway safe campaign NW4

For years now  Conservative Barnet Council and  Boris Johnson’s  Transport for London have neglected the subways in Hendon Central. They argue with each other about who should be responsible and nothing gets done . Many people have told me that they are uneasy using  these subways at night. They are dirty, dark and attract anti-social behaviour. Now that the nights are drawing in it is important that residents feel safe. That is  why I have started this petition with the West Hendon Labour councillors,  to call on Barnet Council and TfL to install CCTV for  security and to clean up the subways.

West Hendon Councillors

We the undersigned call on Barnet Council and TfL to stop arguing over who is responsible for the eight subways between Brent Cross flyover and Five Ways Corner on  the A41 Hendon Way and Watford Way. We call for CCTV to be installed to help ensure that residents feel safe. We also call for more frequent and effective cleaning.
